Hospital Gowns

Hospital gowns are a very important thing to somebody in the hospital. They are also special as they are designed according to the use by the patients and convenience of the doctors. Hospital gowns make it easier for the doctors and staff to access the patient for treatment and care. When put on patient, these gowns also make it easier to view the wounded area or the area under treatment. However in case of emergencies the clothes worn by the patients need to be cut to view the wounded area. Doctors need to view the wounded area and a good part around it under proper lights so that they can perform their job without hindrance.

Hospital gowns also include the scrubs white coats for the doctors. These coats are an insignia and the pride of a doctor. The hospital gowns are a part of the budget of the hospital. Every hospital makes gowns in different sizes for the convenience of their staff and doctors. These gowns are washed and cleaned in hospital laundry under strict sterilization. In case of smaller problems the patient does not need hospital gowns however hospital gowns are needed in operation theaters and labor rooms. Here are a few types of gowns:

  • Operation theater gowns

The operation theater gowns are those that are required for the operations. These gowns are used to cover the body and the area that is to be given an incision for the operation. The part which is to be operated is uncovered. From here the gown is clipped up on the screen that is placed above the chest of the patient to avoid viewing the operation; as these days local spinal anesthesia is preferred for pelvic surgeries which do not require a patient to go into deep sleep.

  • Labor room gowns

The labor room gowns usually consist of a single piece. These gowns are flowy and shape less to fit in every type of patient. They are usually knee length so that the delivery of the baby can be done easily. These gowns are important to wear in case of emergency caesarian sections that become unavoidable due to any reason.

* Children gowns

Pajamas and shirts in different sizes are also made for children. These gowns are not needed for new born babies but are required for children that require any surgical treatment.

  • Mens gowns

The hospital gowns that are made for men have no buttons or zips. They have cloth strips at the back that can be tied like shoe laced. They are usually two piece gowns that are used for gents. These gowns have pajamas and shirts.

  • Ladies gowns

Ladies gowns are usually the same as the labor room ones but in case of other problems the lady patients can demand for pajamas as well.

  • doctors gowns

The doctors also require gowns in operation theaters and delivery rooms.  These hospital gowns are also provided by the hospitals.

  • Staff gowns

The staff that assists doctors in operation theaters and delivery rooms requires hospital gowns. These gowns contain two piece; shirt and pajamas. The texture of these hospital gowns is cotton usually.
